Tackling Poverty with Nyles Morgan at the MHCare Medical Flag Football Tournament!

MHCare Medical and  Nyles Morgan/Destined Athletics partnered in this inaugural event to support homelessness and poverty in our community through donations supporting the Mustard Seed Community Impact Centers. The Mustard Seed Community Impact Centers provide a wide range of essential services, including family dinners, access to advocates, daily meals, hygiene needs, homework clubs for students, art programming and other essential needs.

The Destined Athletics football training program is set out to enhance the football landscape in Edmonton. The program is run out of the Turf Training Center in Nisku(TTC).  Nyles’s commitment to excellence is evident in his dedication to nurturing the next generation of athletes, providing them with the tools and mindset needed to excel both on and off the field.  

This free event took place on Saturday April 6th, from 11am -1pm at the Turf Training Center in Nisku where you the teams battled out a round robin style tournament.  The event also featured the following professional football players: Tomas Kurdyla, Gavin Cobb, Brett Boyko, Jacob Plamondon, JMin Pelley, Jake Taylor, and Tanner Green!

Everyone attending the event was encouraged to bring donations from the list below in support of homeless people.

‍Donation List:

- Gift Cards (in $5 or $10- for fast food restaurants, and grocery stores)

- Washable Markers & Pencil Crayons & Drawing Paper

- Family Friendly Board Games

- Re-usable water bottles and coffee cups

- Hygiene items:  Travel size Shampoo & Conditioner, Deodorant, Shaving Cream, Body Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste

- Cash donations (tax receipts will be issued for $20 and above)
